从某天起，忽然感到已经可以看到未来日子的尽头。我对妻子说，咱们死了埋不埋？埋哪儿？她懒得搭理我，说我乌鸦嘴。但我是认真的。
死了埋不埋其实我倒不太在意。火化却是肯定的，因为一想到自己的身体会慢慢腐烂我就膈应。骨灰扔海里扔山上都成，让它们化到水里，散到土里，融入万物，进入新的生命循环。但我是一定想要一个墓的，墓里埋着骨灰也行，埋几件我生前的物件也行，啥也不埋也行。墓一定要有个碑，不用大，不用高级，一块结实的石头就行。正面刻着我的名字，反面刻着四个字：他曾活过。我这个平凡的人，总归是要被世人遗忘的，但如果有个碑，一个能结实几百年不烂的东西一直立在那里，能多证明一会儿我曾来过这个世界想必能延续我的存在感。如果一百年后有一天，某个路人看到我的墓碑，说，哎？这名字我见过，他写的某篇文章我读过。那我在天之灵一定会狂喜到哭泣。当然这事发生的几率如中彩票一样微弱，但有块碑在那儿，这几率便不为零。
不信神，不信来世的人，认真凝视不远处的死亡总是要么惶恐，要么感伤，要么百感交集，胡思乱想，如我此刻一样。
既然要个墓，那墓地选在哪儿？无非是要么中国，要么加拿大。我打听过国内的墓地，据说只能买几十年的使用权，到期之后，如果子孙不续费，就无权再用了，政府随时可以把你的墓给刨了，可能盖个动物园。一百年后我的后人大概连我是谁都不知道，难道我便要忍受那帮猴子在我头上撒野？加拿大的墓地我也了解了一下，我所在的城市大概五六千刀可以买个永久使用的墓地。反正迟早是要买，不如现在就买，肯定比以后便宜。我跟妻子讲了这个想法，她说我神经病。把墓地选在加拿大还有个原因，就是不知从什么时候起我觉得加拿大才是我的故乡，因为在这里我感到惬意，安定，自在。正应了那句“此心安处是故乡”。我的灵魂在一群跟我有类似价值观的人群中飘荡总好过飘在义和团的杀气中。
