妈妈问崔凤龙姨父：“这个故事真好，大姐夫！你是在哪儿听来的？”
崔凤龙回答：“那时候，我还在部队里呢！一次上面的领导到我们基层部队检查工作。一个领导吃完饭就出来和我们唠嗑。他还跟我说话来着。他问， ‘你是哪来的？’ 我回答， ‘黑山。’ 他说， ‘诶！黑山！我知道！黑山什么地方的？’ 我回答, ‘大虎山。’ 他说， ‘我有朋友在大虎山，那谁和谁，你认识不？’ 我回答， ‘我是大虎山乡农村的；镇里没熟人。’”
Mother asked Uncle Dragon: "This story is very good, Big Brother! Where did you hear it?"

妈妈奉承道：“大姐夫，你的记忆可真好！”
崔凤龙尴尬地解释说：“凤玲！这不都是家常话吗！那个刘团长看着就不一般，那走路，站着、坐着，一举一动，总是那么受看。当时，我们战士们都感觉很荣幸能看见这样的人。”
妈妈说：“我听说过，道骨清风！让人一看，就感觉清风拂面！”
崔凤龙说：“百闻不如一见，看了让人耳目一新，眼前一亮。后来，他就给我们讲了这个故事。”

崔凤龙红着脸回答：“凤玲！不是！那时，我连主人公姓刘都没记住。是这么回事！当时，我们小战士都年轻，听了桃花劫后，就睡不着了。可是，大伙儿怎么努力，也拼凑不出完整的桃花劫故事。后来，团里面组织了几个人去军区学习讲这个故事。我又听了几遍，才记住这么多。”
Mom said, "Big Brother! Your memory is good. This story is so complicated, and you memorized it after hearing it once!"

妈妈羡慕地说：“部队里的生活真好！还派人去学讲故事！人家那几个人便宜了，还顺便到沈阳溜达了一趟。”
崔凤龙说：“后来我们唠嗑，问他们去军区，玩得怎么样？他们说，本来计划玩玩的，可任务完成的不好，没玩成。到那儿一打听，才知道，人家是东北军区文工团的副团长。接待我们的人还给我们看他的日程安排。人家要组织排练节目，还自己表演讲故事。他会见的人都是副师级以上，省长、市长什么的。我们几个一商量，还是回去吧，别给人家添麻烦了。接待我们的人却说，‘那可不行，刘团长对我们有交代，对待下级上访要有礼貌。若是他知道我就这么把你们打发回去了，非关我禁闭不可。你们先在这等等吧！”
Mom said enviously, "Life in the army is so good! They even send people to learn storytelling! Those people were lucky and took a side trip to Shenyang."

If he knew that I sent you back like this, he would detent me up. You guys wait here.”
“刚好刘团长送客人出来，看见我们几个，过来问是怎么回事。他得知我们想学讲桃花劫故事，非常平易近人地说：我讲的故事中，有几个我特别喜欢；《桃花劫》就是其中之一。有人喜欢《三国演义》，有人喜欢《红楼梦》，我就喜欢这部《桃花劫》。我小时候看这故事书的时候，看了好几遍。那时，我认为《桃花劫》就是天书一部。今天晚上，我在XXX表演讲故事。本来我计划讲YYY故事，我就改讲这个故事好了。你们先去听听，再做点儿笔记。明后天，咱们再一起研究如何讲这个故事。”

“刘团长给我们开了个学讲故事的学习班；还有从别的部队来学讲这故事的。这故事非常复杂，我们学不明白，刘团长就给我们改故事，还排练。学讲这个故事，可把我们难为坏了，学不会。”

崔凤龙说：“是呀！而且见过他的人都赞扬他。他们别的部队的人说，刘团长在他们那里讲故事时，人们是陆续到场的。他一边讲故事，一边安排人坐在地上。随着人数增多，他把现场的人安排坐得像似个八卦图。他就在那个八卦阵里一边走，一边讲。人们问问题，随问随答，声音大，吐字清晰，一字是一字，一句是一句；多少人发问，人家就是不乱。”
Mom said, "They all say good when they hear it!" 
Uncle Dragon said, "Yes! And everyone who has seen him praises him. People from their other units said that when Troupe Leader Liu told stories at their place, people arrived one after another. While he was telling the story, he arranged for people to sit on the ground. As the number of people increased, he arranged the people on the floor to sit like a Bagua array. “凤玲！人家回答问题，谁问的，就回答谁。转回头继续讲，不重复。比如，刚才我讲到哪了，人家没这事。刚才讲到哪儿，他就从那一句的下一句开始。”
妈妈赞叹道：“少有，真是个奇才！”
