一九九七年早春的一天，黄老师说有事要跟我说。我来到了他们的房间。他们俩就开始讨论我和刘健君的事。
他的室友对他说：“你没告诉卢岩，刘健君她爸是什么高级干部，家里有钱，有房子。现在找对象都讲究综合实力，人家有，你为什么不说？”
One day in the early spring of 1997, Teacher Huang said he had something to tell me. I came to their room. The two of them started talking about Eve Liu and me.

Teacher Huang said to me, "We all know your situation very well, and we have complete confidence in you. Eve Liu was a graduate student there, and five or six of us have been studying her. 我听得很高兴，没说话。

Teacher Huang said: "When we have prepared all these, the old man will pretend to be sick and recruit Eve Liu back from the United States. On the day she comes back, we will all go to the airport to pick her up. I will wait for the right moment and push you over." 黄老师说：“就连你们俩晚上出去溜达，我们都安排路过的人回头看，说：这俩人真是天生的一对儿！”
我说：“我听着，感觉像是法师作法！”

Teacher Huang said, "What kind of juristic teacher’s lawmaking (i.e., magician's magic) is this? It's only true if it works! I said, "Isn't this cheating? Cheating is not good!"
Teacher Huang said, "How is it cheating? Why would her parents and sister cheat on her? I don't cheat on anyone else, let alone her. That's how affairs are in the world! You say it's cheating, okay! This is her father's idea, who else dares to cheat on her! She is the only one in the world who is cheated, how can it be wrong! You think she is a goddess!? She can even see through this! 8.3-4 八百年出不来一个 The Only Person for 800 Years
我支吾地回答：“事儿是好事儿，有骗人的成分不好。” 这时，我是背对着屋门坐着的，不知什么时候，门口站着一个人在听我们说话。他突然大叫：“这还不行！真是八百年出不来一个！” 我被惊吓得蹦了起来，回头看。站在门口的人大声嚷嚷：“你连和平房产局都能混出来，摆弄咱这帮人，还不跟玩儿似的！” 我听糊涂了，不懂他在说什么！
I answered hesitantly: "It's a good thing, but it's not good to have deception." At this time, I was sitting with my back to the door. I don't know when a person stood at the door and listened to us. He suddenly shouted: "This is not good! You are truly ‘the only person for 800 Years’!" I jumped up in shock and looked back. The person standing at the door shouted: "You can even fool out (i.e., stand out) the Heping Housekeeping Bureau, messing with us, it is just like a game!" I was confused and didn't understand what he was saying!
黄老师愤怒地对他说：“你说啥呢！” 黄老师的室友示意那人离开。黄老师急冲冲地走到我背后，把门关上了。他走回床边，问室友：“他是谁？”
Teacher Huang angrily said to him, "What are you talking about!" Teacher Huang's roommate motioned for the man to leave. Teacher Huang hurriedly walked behind me and closed the door. He walked back to the bed and asked his roommate, "Who is he?"

我说：“我也感觉挺害怕的！”

黄老师对室友说：“他是幻想世界里的人！”
室友叨咕：“幻想世界里的人！” 想了一会儿说：“我明白了，你是说他和刘健君都是幻想世界里的人。就这幻想世界里的人在一起有话儿说。唠唠的，俩人就幻想到一块儿去了。”
Teacher Wong says to his roommate, “He's from a fantasy world!”

我说：“你还有那权力？我哪有能力当校长！”

我跟他说了，然后说：“他们全家帮我骗自己的闺女，我有那么傻吗！？到头来，我自己弄个哑巴吃黄连，有苦说不出。”
I returned to my room, and my roommate, the policeman from State Council, asked me what I was talking about in Teacher Huang’s room. Why was I so happy?
