The San Francisco Chinese New Year Parade, celebrating the Year of the Dragon, will be on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 5:15 pm, stepping off at Second and Market Streets. The parade is approximately 1.3 miles in length and lasts about 2-1/2 hours from start to finish. It is a free event for all to attend but tickets must be purchased to sit in the bleacher sections.

The San Francisco parade is one of a kind, with spectacular floats, numerous marching bands, colorful costumes, lion dances, and the ever popular Golden Dragon ("Gum Lung") which is 288 feet long and carried by a large team of trained martial artists. There will be many celebrities participating, including the beautiful and talented Miss Chinatown U.S.A. and her court.

The San Francisco Chinese New Year Festival and Parade is the largest celebration of its kind in the world, attracting over three million spectators and television viewers throughout the U.S., Canada, and Asia with the help of both KTVU/Fox 2 and KTSF Channel 26 (Chinese broadcast). Named one of the top ten parades in the world by the International Festivals & Events Association, the Chinese New Year Parade in San Francisco is one of the few remaining illuminated parades in North America and the biggest parade celebrating Lunar New Year outside of Asia. This is one parade that is surely not to be missed, come rain or come shine!

Admission: Free; $41-$70 for Bleacher Seating
